We need to make what is happening inside school walls easier for the APS community to learn about and understand. It is too hard to find out what is happening inside our schools.  

 

To address this issue, I will work to 

• develop an APS webpage that outlines current metrics, successes, challenges and goals for improvement; such as staff and student demographics, MCAS scores, and suspension data

• develop an intentional plan for how to communicate out state-mandated, annual school district reports to the community that include our “accountability score” as it compares to the state averages and to our state designated “comparable” districts 

• develop additional parent-facing communication about plans, challenges and successes

• develop a website outlining student support initiative so parents and caregivers understand where to go, what to do, and what options are available to them when their student is struggling
