Classroom Lecture

This current pandemic shines a light on the need to address issues of inequity in our town and in our school system. The recent closing of our schools demonstrates that if we don’t take care of our most vulnerable, we all lose. I want to help us transform into a district where we all win. I want our decisions to be guided by the members of our community who are most affected, by engaging parents and the community in deciding what is right for their children, and pursuing proactive policies like inquiring about our families' technology needs when students are registering for school and using teacher to parent calls to determine individual family needs.

If elected I promise to not only continue to listen to these stakeholder groups but to actively pursue policies that:

Another priority is hiring the new school superintendent. I want to make sure that we hire a supt that has experience addressing disparity issues in their prior districts, who will prioritize  hiring and retaining diverse teachers and who is dedicated to transparency and communication. By casting a wide net, I know we can find the Superintendent our community, our students and our teachers deserve.
